Every session pairs a clear hockey skill focus with a character and leadership lesson. Technical coaching, video demonstrations, and small games build the player; exploring values, strengths, and teamwork develops the person. Groups are matched by age and stage.

MELISA MECCAGE

Founder, LeadHer + Zag Tours

All-American player. National championship coach. Mentor. Mom. Melisa brings a lifetime in field hockey—and a perspective shaped around the world—to every athlete she develops.

As the founder of Zag Tours, Melisa has spent 20 years taking thousands of field hockey athletes and coaches around the hockey-playing world. Along the way, she has been exposed to some of the game’s best and brightest minds, a wide variety of playing styles, and different approaches to developing athletes.

Combined with her collegiate coaching experience at Virginia, Iowa, and Princeton, that global experience gives LeadHer athletes a unique perspective on their own development: more ways to understand the game, solve problems, and discover their strengths.

It all comes back to the athlete in front of her. Every LeadHer session brings hockey training together with character and leadership building, because developing the person matters as much as developing the player.

CLARA MECCAGE

A national Top 100 player and New Jersey’s top player in the Class of 2029, Clara competes for The Pennington School. She brings her passion for the game to helping younger athletes develop their skills, character, and leadership.
